The quintet, commissioned by Rustam Komachkov & Alexei Goribol, was written in the memory of a brilliant Russian contrabass player Rifat Komachkov (1937–2012) and first performed on February 03 2014 in the Small Hall of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
